An unconscious person had to be cut out of a car after a crash in east Auckland this morning, which also injured four others.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the two-car crash on Mt Wellington Highway, near the intersection of William Harvey Place, at about 6.30am.
A police spokesman said one person was in a critical condition and four others suffered serious injuries.
They were all taken to Auckland Hospital.
The police serious crash unit is investigating.
