Three people have been critically injured, including a motorcyclist and pillion passenger, in two road accidents in South Auckland overnight.
A motorcyclist and pillion passenger came off their bike and crashed into a tree in Clendon Park at 4.40am.
Both are in Middlemore Hospital in a critical condition.
Three people were also injured after a car ran a red light and hit another vehicle on the Puhinui on-ramp to the Southwestern Motorway about 11pm.
St John ambulance staff said three people from the offending vehicle, one in a critical condition, one serious and one moderate, were taken to Middlemore Hospital.
