Five charged with kidnapping

Five men with alleged connections to the Head Hunters are facing kidnapping charges. John Teawa Daly, 25, Sheldon Mitchell Ostler, 19, Turi Rupi Mihaka Williams, 27, and another with name suppression appeared in the Auckland District Court yesterday.

A fifth man appeared in the Whangarei District Court, was granted name suppression and will appear in the Waitakere District Court next week. They are charged with kidnapping a man and holding him against his will. The Herald understands the alleged ordeal lasted some days and that money was demanded from the victim.
