Police have arrested and charged five people from a Christchurch property where a suspected illicit methamphetamine laboratory was discovered last night.
Detective Senior Sergeant Brian Archer, of the Christchurch police drug squad, said police seeking a man wanted on an arrest warrant found equipment at a Hills Rd, Edgeware, property believed to be used for making methamphetamine, or P.
Five people from the house were arrested and face charges relating to the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Mr Archer said they would appear in Christchurch District Court today.
The house was cordoned last night before an inspection by members of the Wellington-based police methamphetamine laboratory team.
"We will process the scene today and see what else is there," Mr Archer said.
"It's possible further charges will be laid."
