Five of six men charged after a gang fight in Rotorua last month have appeared in the Rotorua District Court.
The men aged 20 to 34, who have all been granted interim name suppression, appeared before a registrar yesterday jointly charged with damaging a utility vehicle and possessing an offensive weapon - either a piece of wood or an iron bar - with the intention of using the weapon to commit an offence involving bodily injury and or threats of violence.
One of the men is also charged with injuring with intent. They have not entered any pleas.
The sixth man, who has also been granted interim name suppression, did not appear yesterday as he was in hospital.
The men's appearance in court followed an incident at a Koutu Rd property on September 30. The registrar has remanded the men on bail to reappear on November 2 when name suppression will also be addressed.
