Five arrests in scalping attack

A Porirua man was scalped and beaten after he was confronted by five men in a home invasion.

Detective Sergeant Mark Buttar said the man, 31, was awoken by the sound of smashing glass at his home about 2am on Saturday. When he went downstairs to investigate, he was attacked by five men, and had part of his scalp dug out.

Police arrested five men a few hours later.
