The body of a fisherman has been found in Lake Onslow in Otago.
The police dive squad found the body of 48 year-old Kevin Donald Croad yesterday afternoon.
Mr Croad was from Gore. His body was found in about four metres of water, close to where he was reported missing.
Mr Croad went into the water to untangle fishing line in the boat's propellers.
Detective Sergeant Derek Shaw said yesterday that Mr Croad drifted away from the boat and his companion could not start the motor to rescue him.
Mr Croad's death has been referred to the coroner.
"Although the death of Mr Croad is a tragedy, it is of some comfort to his family and friends that he could be recovered from the lake in such a timely manner," Mr Shaw said.
