Fisherman swept out to sea named

The Northland fisherman who died after being swept out to sea was David Arona.

The 41-year-old from Kaitaia was fishing with friends at Tauroa Point near Ahipara on Saturday, when he was swept away.

The Northland rescue helicopter was called from Whangarei but Mr Arona's body had washed up on the beach when it arrived.
