KEY POINTS:
A police dive team has failed to find a 46-year-old fisherman believed to have drowned off Gulf Harbour on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula on Saturday morning.
The man and a relative were returning to shore when their 4m boat was hit by large waves and sank. The relative managed to swim to shore.
Police, who yesterday searched 12m-deep water about 50-100m offshore, will make a decision today on whether to continue the search.
