Mitch Bodman of Pukekohe was just starting to think about a replacement vehicle the day the Herald called with a brand-new one.
The call truly was out of the blue, to the extent Mr Bodman thought it was a prank. "I thought it was my daughter taking the mickey out of me," said the Ocean Seafood's fish buyer.
Mr Bodman clipped a coupon from the Herald to win a Nissan Murano 4WD, one of four the Herald and Herald on Sunday are giving away weekly until July 1. Mr Bodman already owns a '98 Nissan. But that vehicle is getting a bit old and the updated model will "come in handy", he says.
He was last night "happy and surprised" by his good luck. He has a few South Island trips planned for his new vehicle, but assures the Herald he won't be using it to transport fish.
