All four main petrol companies dropped their prices by 4c a litre today ahead of the long weekend.
BP led the charge today, by lopping 4c a litre off petrol prices.
This followed a "special promotion" by Shell yesterday, in which prices were discounted by 5 cents a litre at selected stations around the country between 4pm and 7pm.
This morning, Shell matched BP's price of 144.9c a litre for 91, 148.9c for 98 and 101.9 for diesel.
The other main companies have also followed suit.
