There were two house fires last night - both ignited around midnight.

The first was in Woolston Christchurch.

Two trucks responded and despite the fire being fully engulfed upon arrival [at Tilford St], it was extinguished within the hour.

The second was a garage fire in Maungatapu, Tauranga.

One truck responded to the property on Te Hono St, the crew had the blaze under control within two hours.

No one was injured at either fire.
