Fires at Avondale racetrack extingushed, deemed suspicious

Fire and Emergency New Zealand crews have extinguished two building fires in Avondale.

A FENZ spokesman said two separate buildings at the racetrack on Patiki Rd were on fire when crews arrived around 10.15pm and were put out at 10.45pm.

He said a fire investigator has visited the scene and the fires are being deemed as suspicious.

Police have also been notified of the incident.
