Fire fighters are working to free a man in the framework of a crane in the Auckland suburb of Parnell.
Erika Hinze is at the scene. She says it is unclear just what has happened, but bystanders say two men were originally trapped.
One man has been freed but the second is still trapped within the crane, about ten metres above the ground.
St John says one man has been taken to Auckland Hospital with moderate injuries. It has received no information on the condition of the second man who is still trapped up on the crane.
