Firefighters spent more than an hour battling five small blazes in Taupo which they suspect were deliberately lit.
Five fire trucks were called to Mapara Rd, Kinloch, about 1.20pm this afternoon.
North fire communications team manager Scott Osmond said there were five small blazes.
Four were extinguished relatively easily but
the fifth took more than an hour to control, he said.
They believed the fires were deliberately lit.
