Dozens of firefighters continue to battle a large scrub fire burning north of Auckland since Saturday.
Auckland principal rural fire officer Bryan Cartelle said the blaze had remained well within containment lines overnight.
However, a helicopter, digger and 70 firefighters remained at the site today and Mr Cartelle said they were making good progress today.
"We have numbers on the ground and are doing everything to wrap this fire up as quickly as we can."
The fire, which at one stage covered more than 70 hectares, broke out on cutover forestry land next to a commercial pine forest, about 10km north of Warkworth.
