Two firefighters received minor burns while battling a house fire in Hamilton this morning.
The two firefighters were in separate parts of the two-storey house near suburban Tamahere and got too close to the flames, Fire Service area commander Roy Breeze told NZPA.
The blaze was already well involved by the time firefighters arrived at 10.15am, but was brought under control in about 15 minutes, he said.
All but two rooms of the house were gutted, he said. Fire safety staff were investigating.
