Two firefighters have narrowly escaped serious injury after a water tanker they were travelling in rolled near Cambridge.
The pair are believed to have sustained minor injuries in the incident, which took place on Te Miro Rd around 10.30am.
They managed to free themselves from the New Zealand Fire Service vehicle before emergency services arrived.
A specialist heavy rescue tender which had been deployed from Hamilton was then stood down, Fire Service northern communications shift manager Paul Radden said.
It is not yet known what caused the water tanker to roll, Mr Radden said. He was also unsure of how much damage was caused to the vehicle.
