A fire at a poultry processing plant near Hamilton has been extinguished.
Fire fighters were alerted at 7.50am today, when an alarm activated within the Inghams Enterprises building on Bisley Road in Ruakura, 6km north east of Hamilton city centre, northern fire service communications shift manager Phil Norris said.
The fire was extinguished by 9.15am, and at its height seven appliances attended.
A Hamilton Fire Station spokesman said fire safety officers were investigating the cause but early indications suggested a mechanical fault had sparked the blaze.
