KEY POINTS:
Firefighters are battling a huge fire in forest off the Coatesville-Riverhead Highway.
The fire, which is 150m long and 200m deep in the Riverhead Forest, is believed to have started just before 7.30am.
The New Zealand Air Force is assisting dozens of firefighters by flying in foam, while a helicopter is dumping monsoon buckets of water.
