Firefighters are battling a blaze at a central Wellington house.
A three-storey wooden house off Allenby Terrace was ablaze, with the flames visible from nearby Boulcott Street, and the smoke seen from Victoria University in Kelburn.
No one was believed to be injured in the fire, a Fire Service spokesman told Stuff.co.nz.
A witness said people were gathered outside a house on The Terrace, which backed onto Allenby Terrace.
Eight appliances, more than 30 firefighters and an ambulance were there.
