KEY POINTS:
Firefighters worked overnight to put out a blaze in an electrical products factory in Petone.
The fire on Nelson Street was reported at 10.50pm yesterday, and was attended by four appliances and 16 firemen.
Central communications shift manager Mike Wanoa said firefighters spent 30 minutes getting the fire under control and remained at the scene overnight dampening down hotspots.
Mr Wanoa said there were concerns about the asbestos levels in the building and firemen were decontaminated following the blaze.
The Fire Service would return later today to assess the asbestos levels and establish the cause of the fire.
