Firefighters are battling an out-of-control vegetation fire at Stillwater, north of Auckland.
Fire services received multiple calls about the blaze at an area on East Coast Road at 3.10pm today.
A firefighter received an eye injury during the operation, a spokesperson for the fire service said.
Crews are expected to
battle the blaze overnight, with an aerial attack continuing on the eastern front after the fire jumped forestry roads.
The fire was involved in an area about 10ha in size, predominantly pine and other vegetation, said the spokesperson.
