Napier firefighters are dampening down hotspots after a blaze at an industrial building early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the fire on Lever Street about 5.45am, central fire communications shift manager Murray Dunbar said.
Four people were reported to have been in the building but firefighters found no sign of anyone inside.
Mr Dunbar said it was not yet known how the blaze started or what damage it had caused.
