KEY POINTS:
Firefighters have been battling a blaze on three boats at Waikawa Marina in Picton this morning.
The fire started just before 6am and involved three boats, one of which had broken its moorings, a fire service spokesman said.
The fire on the boat which had broken its moorings had since been put out, and the fire on a second boat had been suppressed.
However, the blaze on the third boat was still burning well, the spokesman said.
"We currently have four appliances from the Picton and Blenheim stations in attendance," he said.
"The first call indicated one was in a depth of 38 foot. Whether they were launches or yachts we have no indication at this time.
He said it was not believed anyone had been injured in the fire but an ambulance was attending the scene as a precaution.
