Emergency services are investigating a possible acid spill at Auckland International Airport.
The leak was discovered at the Air New Zealand cargo building around 3pm.
Fire Communications shift manager Jaren Phillips says the substance is omitting a strong smell.
Mr Phillips says one person has been treated at the scene and firefighters are now in splash suits as they investigate what the substance is.
Ogilvie Crescent has been cordoned off.
