Seven New Zealand fire managers and 22 fire specialists from Australia have been given an impromptu standing ovation at Vancouver International Airport. The firefighters are in British Columbia for a month relieving Canadian officials who have been co-ordinating firefighting efforts around the province, where more than 800 blazes are burning over an area of 85,000ha.
