KEY POINTS:
A man accused of trying to set fire to the Rotorua Thermal Holiday Park now faces a further five charges of arson.
Wayne George Mear, 34, unemployed, had initially been charged with the attempted arson of the Tangatarua Lodge at the holiday park on October 22.
However, police have now laid five further charges each alleging he deliberately set fire to various parts of the holiday park between March and August this year.
Mear is in custody and is due to reappear in Rotorua District Court on November 21.
