The man who sparked a day-long manhunt near Martinborough has been remanded in custody for another night.
The Wairarapa man, who has interim name suppression, was arrested on Monday after a manhunt involving the Armed Offenders Squad, dog handlers and a police helicopter.
Police allege the man aimed a hunting rifle at two men and was unlawfully in possession of the rifle.
The man first appeared in court on Tuesday, when he entered not guilty pleas to both charges and was remanded in custody for a bail hearing yesterday.
Judge Barbara Morris said there would need to be stringent conditions, which would probably include a 24-hour curfew, if the man was to be bailed.
