Firefighters were today called to a second fire in an apartment block in central Auckland.
The small cooking fire this afternoon was in an apartment on the same floor as another apartment that caught fire in the Queen Street building yesterday, Fire Service northern communications centre shift manager Colin Underwood told NZPA.
Yesterday's fire started in a bedroom of the empty apartment, causing extensive water damage and a lot of smoke.
The kitchen fire today was out when the Fire Service arrived, Mr Underwood said.
