The Fire Service will work through the implications of the case of a volunteer firefighter who's been convicted of careless driving.
John Klaphake was on his way to a fire in Wellington last year when he went through a red light and hit a car.
As Klaphake approached the intersection he slowed down to 20km/h, and had his lights and sirens on.
Judge David Wilson said Klaphake did check left and right, but if he'd checked left again the crash wouldn't have happened.
Fire region manager Brendan Nally says he doesn't believe the conviction has set a precedent.
