Three fire trucks are rushing to a bushfire in the Far North.
A Fire Service spokesman said they were called to the blaze on Te Riha Roadway in Pawarenga, a rural area north of the Hokianga, by two members of the public.
"Apparently it's a rather large bushfire."
Appliances from Ahipara, Kaitaia, Kohukohu and a water tanker from Kaikohe are on their way and expected to arrive around 2.35pm.
While there are no hydrants the spokesman said they will be able to draw water from nearby rivers or creeks.
