KEY POINTS:
The Fire Service was called out to more than two dozen flood-related incidents around Auckland last night.
About 27mm fell at Auckland Airport between 9pm and 10pm and the deluge left parts of Great South Rd in Manurewa under water.
However, there were no reports of serious damage or people being evacuated from their homes.
MetService lead forecaster Sarah Garlick said the bad weather was expected to continue today and tomorrow with thunderstorms, possible hail and gusting westerlies up to 70km/h in exposed places.
