The fire service is battling a house fire in Milton, South Otago.
The Burns Street house was well alight when crews arrived just after 2.30pm, southern fire communications shift manager Andrew Norris said.
Extra fire appliances were on their way to the scene from nearby Balclutha.
Nobody was thought to have been in the house, Mr Norris said.
