KEY POINTS:
The Auckland District Court building was evacuated last night after a prisoner started a fire in the holding cells.
Senior Station Officer Chris Scott of the Auckland Fire Service said that when firefighters arrived just after 5pm they found "a little fire in a wall" and four smoke-logged holding cells. Damage was confined to the wall and firefighters had to cut a bigger hole in it to put the flames out.
