KEY POINTS:
Fire gutted a house in south Auckland this morning.
Firefighters were called to the single storey house in Favona, near Mangere, about 5am this morning.
Fire Service northern communications centre shift manager Jaron Phillips said the house was well alight and several fire appliances were needed to bring it under control.
Mr Phillips said nobody was injured. Fire safety staff were investigating the cause.
