A range of dry powder fire extinguishers have been recalled over concerns they might not work properly.
Tests had shown a number of the extinguishers might not meet standards in regards to filling capacity requirements, which meant they might not release a steady stream of powder, Chubb said.
The recall applied to Chubb, Quell and Flameguard dry powder fire extinguishers purchased between February 16 and July 6 this year.
It included 1kg extinguishers with serial numbers between SA313317 and SA683212, 1.5kg extinguishers with serial numbers between SA318253 and SA643399, 2.3kg extinguishers with serial numbers between SA321385 and SA66942, 2.5kg extinguishers with serial numbers between SA306449 and SA662537, and 4.5kg extinguishers with serial numbers between SA316897 and SA677860.
Chubb also recalled 1kg extinguishers purchased from June 2008 with serial numbers between CQ148950 and CQ823764.
Customers were advised to return the extinguishers to the place of purchase for a replacement.
