Fire damages Mt Albert house

An Auckland family had their house severely damaged by fire this morning.

Two fire appliances were attending the blaze on Owairaka Ave in suburban Mt Albert following a callout about 8am, Steve Smith of the Fire Service northern communications centre said.

Mr Smith said nobody was injured in the blaze. Fire service staff had brought the blaze under control.
