A massive blaze at a Dunedin concrete factory last night is not believed to be suspicious.
Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken of Dunedin police said police were called to provide traffic control to allow fire appliances to operate at the scene, Mini Mix Concrete in suburban Maryhill.
Fire appliances from Dunedin, Lookout Point and St Kilda fought the blaze, after the alarm was raised at 9.54pm.
The property was extensively damaged.
"We don't believe there is anything suspicious about it at this stage," Mr Aitken told NZPA this morning.
"No doubt the fire service is investigating the cause of the fire.
"But police were only there for traffic control duties, to block off the road, which was very narrow."
