Wairarapa fire crews were scrambled to a string of false alarms over a 12-hour stretch at the weekend.
Masterton firefighters attended a false alarm in Norman Ave just after 5pm on Saturday and a single Greytown crew completed a false alarm call at Kuranui College in East St about 90 minutes later, fire communications manager Mike Wanoa said.
Another false alarm was attended by a Masterton crew in Queen St just before 9pm on Saturday and two Greytown crews returned to Kuranui College about 10.20pm for a second false alarm at the school.
Another false alarm was logged at the school about 10 minutes later. There was no fire discovered and the alarm system was reset, Mr Wanoa said.
A Carterton fire crew attended a false alarm in Richmond St in the town just after 4am yesterday and Greytown firefighters completed a false alarm call in Main St about 90 minutes later.
