A small fire near the railway line between Parnell and Newmarket brought some Auckland trains a halt and caused delays for commuters this afternoon.
Authorities were alerted to the blaze just after 1pm. However the fire was put out quickly.
Auckland Transport spokesman James Ireland said train users were never
in any danger, but AT stopped some trains as a precaution.
Some trains would be late because of the incident, but all services should be running on time again by 3pm, Ireland said.
"We're expecting everything to be back to normal before peak."
