A fire on Wellington's Mount Victoria has been put out after 14 crews battled the blaze.
Newstalk ZB reporter Adam Cooper said he could see smoke from the Basin Reserve.
"It's an area which is just largely bush and shrub but obviously with the hot conditions in Wellington a lot of things are just burning.
"There's been a lot of fire trucks going past and a few sirens, the fire appears to have spread, it looks as though it might be confined to maybe 20 to 30sqm of shrub at the moment but there's certainly still smoke pouring off Mt Victoria."
He said the Mt Victoria tunnel was not closed.
