Fire broke out at Trusts Stadium in west Auckland after a fireworks display went wrong tonight.
Revellers had been at the Henderson arena for its Spooks and Sparks event, which advertised as having the "biggest land based fireworks in New Zealand this year".
Fire Service northern communications centre shift manager Jaron Phillips said emergency services were contacted about 9pm when fire broke out in the bushes around the stadium.
Four fire appliances attended and the blaze was quickly brought under control.
A witness said it occurred when a firework from the display misfired.
