Fire badly damages Tokoroa school

Fire safety officers are investigating a suspicious blaze which badly damaged three classrooms at Tokoroa High School today.

By the time four fire appliances from Tokoroa and Putaruru arrived the building was well alight, said Fire Service spokesman, Jaron Phillips.

He said the building contained three classrooms and it was badly damaged.

"The building partially collapsed," he said.

He said fire safety officers and police were at the school and the fire was being treated as suspicious.
