About 40 firefighters are at the scene of a large blaze in a Waikato lumber mill and have called for more engines and tankers.
They were called about 4.15am to the mill in Ohinewai, north of Huntly, to find the building burning strongly, northern fire communications senior communicator Dallas Ramsay said.
No one was believed to have been in the building and no injuries had been reported, she said.
