Firefighters have contained a large blaze at a Timaru motor workshop.
Four fire engines were called to the fire at Timaru Motors' workshop in the suburb of Washdyke about 6.40pm after explosions were heard, a Fire Service spokesman said.
Firefighters arrived to find the 100m by 40m building well ablaze, he said.
The fire had since been brought under control, with one appliance remaining at the scene to check for hot spots.
