The Fire Service is battling a fire involving polystyrene bricks at a horse track in South Auckland.
A large volume of the bricks is ablaze at the Training Track on Porchestor Road in Takanini.
Shift Manager Jaron Phillips said two fire engines were being used to fight the flames and a representative from the Auckland Regional Council is attending because of environmental concerns.
Mr Phillips said it was not clear whether the fire was a controlled burn-off or not, but the smoke cloud is highly visible and the Fire Service had received numerous calls about it.
