Firefighters have put out a blaze at an award-winning fish and chip shop in Auckland.
They were called to the Ponsonby Fresh Fish & Chip on Ponsonby Rd at 12.24pm after fat in a kitchen vat caught fire.
A Fire Service spokesman said foam and dry powder was used to put out the flames, but there was no significant damage, although the shop remains closed for now.
