The final show of Back Benches was forced outside onto Tinakori Road in Wellington after the Speight's Ale House was evacuated after a fire alarm.
In an ironic twist of fate the final show of TVNZ7's Back Benches had to leave the Backbencher pub across the road from Parliament after a fire gutted its insides.
Up to 300 audience members including MPS were made to stand outside.
Labour MP Jacinda Ardern, United Future leader Peter Dunne, National MP Chester Borrows, Mana leader Hone Harawira and Green co-leader Metiria Turei huddled outside around presenters Wallace Chapman and Damian Christie as they continued the show on the road.
TVNZ7 would have its final broadcast on 30 June.
