KEY POINTS:
Passengers departing Auckland International Airport were delayed up to 70 minutes this afternoon following a fire alarm.
Sections of the departure area were evacuated following the alarm about 3.30pm, airport communications advisor Andrew Pirie told NZPA.
He said the Fire Service gave the all-clear about 4.40pm and departing passengers were being let back in the building.
Mr Pirie said it was not immediately clear whether there had been a fire of any sort. Arriving passengers were not affected.
